On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, a groundbreaking event took place, merging technological innovation and the construction sector: the presentation of the Blockchain Think Tank. This initiative, co-organized by the City Council of Sant Cugat, the Sant Cugat Business Association, and BLOOCK, not only marked the beginning of an essential dialogue but also set the tone for a day of profound and inspiring discussions.

The opening was led by Albert Salarich, the councilor for business, innovation, and internationalization of the City Council of Sant Cugat, who emphasized the relevance of this initiative in enhancing the competitiveness of the sector, especially at the municipal level. His speech resonated with the strategic importance of embracing technology to advance sustainable and efficient development in construction.

The roundtable brought together experts whose contributions offered a more comprehensive overview of the impact of blockchain technology in construction:

• Sílvia Aran, Technical Sales Director Lead at Polygon ID, delved into the relationship between Polygon and everyday information security. She detailed how blockchain technology can strengthen data integrity in the construction sector, providing a solid foundation for future innovations.

• Ignasi Perez Arnal, CEO of BIM Academy, Director of the Rebuild Congress, and Director of Master BIM EID, provided valuable insights by discussing real-use cases in the sector. Highlighting daily situations faced by builders and architects, Ignasi demonstrated how blockchain technology can improve efficiency and transparency at every stage of the construction process.
